The first part of the meeting will focus on relations between the EU and Asian countries, as part of the preparation for the coming EU-Asia summit which will be held in Vietnam on October 8 and 9.
The Foreign ministers of four EU candidate countries -- Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey -- will join the the EU ministers on Saturday. Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul will take part in an EU ministerial meeting for the first time since Croatia received the EU candidate status in June,
On Saturday after noon the ministers will discuss the state of affairs in the western Balkan countries. They will talk about future relations between the EU and Serbia and Montenegro, as well as with Kosovo, in light of the coming elections, scheduled for October.
European External Relations Commissioner Chris Patten will give his proposals about relations with Serbia and Montenegro.
