Establishing the office of children's ombudsman is an extraordinary progress in exercising children's rights, the Croatian government's public relations office said in a statement after the meeting.
Given the activities it had taken regarding the protection of children's rights, Croatia can share its experience with European Union countries, Sham Poo said.
Kosor and Sham Poo also tackled the drug problem among the children and the protection from domestic violence. Kosor thanked the UNICEF official on everything the organisation had done for Croatia during the Homeland War.
Minister Kosor informed Sham Poo of what the Croatian government was doing to solve the problem of Croatia's worrying demographic picture, the statement said.
