Zlatko Kramaric told a news conference in the eastern city of Osijek on Saturday that the new law had also good sides but that the measure (absolutely prohibiting alcohol for drivers) "is excessive as law-makers have forgotten that Croatia is a tourist-oriented country" and that Croatia, as a Mediterranean and central European country, cherished the customs of drinking wine and beer.
The LS official believes that the new law should have focused more on the education and improvement of conduct of all participants in the traffic.
Commenting on privatisation of state-owned companies, Kramaric said that every case of privatisation in Croatia was too much politicised. Unlike Croatia, in business circles it is not usual for ministers, county prefects and MPs to have a final say in privatisation. It is primarily the matter of market laws and business," he said.
