DURBAN/ZAGREB, Aug 19 (Hina) - Croatia shares the fundamental values
on which the Non-Aligned Movement was founded -- commitment to the mutual
respect among countries regardless of their power or size, the strengthening of
open dialogue based on cooperation and not opposition, and the permanent fight
for peace in the world, Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul said in Durban on
Thursday.Zuzul was speaking at a plenary session of a two-day ministerial
conference of non-aligned countries which began yesterday, the Croatian Foreign
Ministry said in a press release.
Zuzul thanked South African President Thabo Mbeki on the hospitality and
spoke about Croatia's experiences after gaining independence in the early
1990s. He said Croatia was experienced in regional cooperation and confidence
building between neighbours, the return and care for refugees and displaced
persons, economic revival and social rehabilitation.
On Friday the Croatian delegation Zuzul is heading travels to Pretoria,
and later to Johannesburg where they are due to met local business people and
representatives of Croatian emigrants.
