ZAGREB, May 12 (Hina) - Retired Croatian general Ivan Tolj on Wednesday
completed interviews with investigators from the war crimes tribunal
in The Hague, who interrogated him as a witness.#L#
Tolj told Hina over the telephone the interviews were conducted on
March 4 and 5, and on May 12.
He said the investigators were interested in all major operations the
Croatian army had undertaken during the 1990s war, including
operations Medak Pocket, Flash, and Storm.
Tolj added that the investigators were also interested in the
structure of the armed forces, notably the organisation of the
political administration and its role in the war, as well as in his
part in that.
Tolj said he had talked to the investigators without an attorney. He
was unable to say if there would be more interviews.
The retired general described the interviews as fair but exhausting.
The Hague tribunal's Office of the Prosecutor requested an interview
with Tolj in February.
At the time of Operation Storm in the summer of 1995, Tolj was the
chief of the Defence Ministry's Political Administration.
