Club coordinator Niko Soljak said that the main purpose of the
meeting, which brought together some 30 representatives of Croatian
emigrant associations, was to launch initiatives and bring the
emigrant community closer to its native country by establishing
dialogue between the expatriates and the government.
Soljak expressed hope that the new government would accept opinions of
Croatian expatriates because "it is aware of the strength of the
Croatian diaspora and the need to tie it to its homeland."
