ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Wednesday supported a
programme for the privatisation of the Suncani Hvar hotel chain
through public-private partnership moved by the Quaestus Private
Equity Partneri company, which is headed by former finance minister
Borislav Skegro.#L#
The government entrusted competent ministries and the Privatisation
Fund with submitting as soon as possible all documents necessary to
implement the project.
Quaestus Private Equity Partneri has offered to invest a total of 185
million kuna over the next five years and make the first investment
before the start of this year's tourist season, Deputy Prime Minister
Andrija Hebrang said.
According to Hebrang, Suncani Hvar now owes EUR14 million, of which
EUR3.5 million has to be paid this year, and the company cannot pay
this amount by itself.
The government proposed on Wednesday that the second privatisation
phase in the Ina oil company, namely the issuing of 15 percent of
company stocks on the stock market, be postponed for a year.
By amending a decision on the dynamics of the privatisation of Ina,
the government has suggested that seven percent of company shares be
allocated to Ina war veterans immediately upon the change of the Law
on the Croatian War Veterans' Fund.
The amendments on the dynamics of the privatisation of Ina will go
into force after parliament endorses them.
