ZAGREB, April 30 (Hina) - A new national television network in Croatia, RTL Television, began broadcasting at 1800 hours on Friday with a short statement by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, who wished the new broadcaster a lot of success
in its work and viewers a lot of entertainment.

"I think it is very good that there is competition in Croatia. It is
beneficial for democracy," Sanader said.
RTL Television won a licence for the third national broadcasting
channel in September last year. The channel was previously used by the
national broadcasting corporation, Croatian Television (HTV).
The new television station will broadcast its main news programme at
1845 hours every day.
