Minister Vukelic said that his country would like to develop
cooperation with Germany, which is Croatia's second biggest trade
partner.
Minister Rhiel said that the delegation consisted of managers of
companies interested in investing in Croatia or starting joint
ventures with Croatian partners on third markets.
Rhiel also congratulated Croatia on the European Commission's positive
avis which Germany regarded as encouragement for enhancing
German-Croatian ties, the Croatian Economy Ministry reported.
Trade between Croatia and Hessen totalled 175 million euros in 2002,
accounting for seven percent of trade between the two countries.
Croatia's exports to that German state came to 72 million euros, with
imports worth 103 million euros.
Business people from Hessen, one of the best developed German states,
are interested in cooperation with their Croatian colleagues not only
in the export of goods and services, but also in joint investment,
Rhiel said after a meeting of representatives from 13 German and some
20 Croatian companies in the offices of the Croatian Chamber of
Economy earlier on Wednesday.
On Tuesday the delegation from Hessen visited the Croatian seaside
resort of Dubrovnik.
