ZAGREB, April 27 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament President Vladimir Seks on Tuesday received the head of the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Europe, Patrick Zahn, the Office of the
Parliament's President said in a statement.

on Tuesday received the head of the Regional Delegation of the
International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Europe, Patrick
Zahn, the Office of the Parliament's President said in a statement.#L#
Seks expressed his sincere gratitude to the ICRC for its active
involvement and dealing with the consequences of the war in Croatia
since 1991, particularly through its efforts to trace missing
persons.
The ICRC and the Croatian Red Cross were commended for their
successful cooperation in implementing programmes aimed at raising the
awareness of Croatian citizens of risks posed by land mines and other
explosive devices left behind after the war.
Seks described as positive the intention of the Regional Delegation to
establish contact with governments, academic circles, civil society
and the media in Central Europe in order to ensure an effective
application of international humanitarian law standards.
Zahn underlined that his delegation had established very fruitful
cooperation with Croatian institutions, particularly in shedding light
on the fates of missing persons.
