The agreement provides for free technical assistance through the USAID
Project of Local Self-Government Reform worth around US19 million.
Its aim is to introduce modern public administration management to
meet the requirements for Croatia's admission to the European Union.
The City of Karlovac will be given technical assistance over the next
two years in implementing a model of property management that has
proved successful in the most developed countries of the world.
Roger said that the US government had provided Croatian citizens with
US360 million in aid since 1992, most of it through USAID
programmes.
