ZAGREB, April 24 (Hina) - Ivo Sanader was on Saturday re-elected as the President of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), and Jadranka Kosor was re-elected to be his deputy in the coming four years.
ZAGREB, April 24 (Hina) - Ivo Sanader was on Saturday re-elected as the
President of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), and Jadranka Kosor
was re-elected to be his deputy in the coming four years.#L#
Sanader, who was the only candidate for the HDZ president for the
four-year term, was elected almost unanimously at the ninth general
convention of the party in Rijeka on Saturday when he won 2,012 votes,
(namely 99 percent of the deputies at the convention). Kosor won 1,890
votes.
Deputies elected ten members of the new presidency: Vladimir Seks (who
won the highest number of votes), Ivan Suker, Bozidar Kalmeta, Luka
Bebic, Bozo Biskupic, Petar Cobankovic, Andrija Hebrang, Marijan
Mlinaric, Darko Milinovic and Miomir Zuzul.
At the convention in Rijeka held under the slogan "Towards European
Future", the ruling Croatian party also elected a new 25-member
national committee.
