Asked about the committee's sessions and the reasons for the changes,
the HDZ chief, Ivo Sanader, said this model was chosen as its was
regarded as a more efficient.
The changes of the statute also stipulate that all HDZ members of
parliament and the government immediately become members of the Main
Committee. This also refers to HDZ councillors in county assemblies
and in the assembly of the City of Zagreb.
The forthcoming general convention of the ruling party, scheduled for
24 April in Rijeka, will be held under the slogan 'Towards European
Future'.
