According to the statement, the incident took place some 300 metres
inside Croatian territory near the Macelj border crossing around 2000
hours. When the Slovene police officers stopped the car, the driver
and his son locked themselves in, which prompted the police to break
the car's side windows. This resulted in a fight.
The statement said the Slovene Interior Ministry regretted the
incident and announced disciplinary proceedings against their
officers.
The president of the Zagreb County Court, Bozidar Rumenjak, said this
was a border incident which should be settled by the two countries'
interior and foreign ministries.
