Muljacic, will on Wednesday fly to The Hague to relay the government's oral guarantees for the temporary release of generals Ivan Cermak and Mladen Markac, detained by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
ZAGREB, March 29 (Hina) - Croatia's Justice Minister Vesna Skare
Ozbolt, accompanied by Chief State Prosecutor Mladen Bajic and the
assistant justice minister in charge of cooperation with international
criminal courts, Jaksa Muljacic, will on Wednesday fly to The Hague to
relay the government's oral guarantees for the temporary release of
generals Ivan Cermak and Mladen Markac, detained by the International
Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).#L#
During her official visit to the tribunal, Minister Skare Ozbolt will
meet ICTY President Theodor Meron and Chief Prosecutor Carla del
Ponte. The main topic of their talks will be the possibility of
transferring some trials from The Hague to Croatia as part of the
tribunal's exit strategy.
Skare Ozbolt will notify her hosts of seminars and training for
Croatian judges for this purpose, reads a press release issued by the
Croatian justice ministry on Monday.
