Boucher has said.#L#
The UN Security Council on Friday adopted Resolution 1534 confirming
the importance of fully implementing a strategy for the completion of
work of the UN war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY)
and the tribunal for war crimes in Rwanda by 2010, and called on
Balkan countries to step up cooperation with the ICTY to bring to
justice runaway indictees Radovan Karadzic, Ratko Mladic and Ante
Gotovina.
Commenting on the resolution on Friday evening, Boucher said his
country wanted to confirm its strong commitment to have Karadzic,
Mladic and Gotovina tried before the ICTY regardless of the set
deadlines for the tribunal's exit strategy and called on Balkan
countries to fulfil their obligations towards the Hague tribunal.
