Populists (Hrvatski Narodnjaci in Croatian), was founded in Zagreb on
Thursday. Mislav Zagar was elected its president.#L#
The former president of the Croatian People's Party's Zagreb branch,
Zagar left the branch in late February together with the vice
president of the branch, Kresimir Franjic, and another 12 members.
They explained their leaving with dissatisfaction with and lack of
democracy in the party.
These 14 former HNS members make up the Croatian Populists Founding
Committee. Another 110 people signed the founding list.
Also attending the founding assembly were guests from the Zagreb
branches of the Social Democrats, Democratic Centre and Green Action
2003.
