The bill envisages relocating a Food Agency, which is yet to be
established, from Zagreb to Osijek.
Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic said that this was the first
step in decentralising the state administration and relocating state
services to other parts of the country.
The deputies endorsed the bill in a brief debate, and Vilim Herman of
the Libra party proposed that the government soon prepare new changes
to the law in order to define more precisely food that is harmful for
consumers' health.
The parliament resumes its sitting tomorrow.
