chaired by Ivo Josipovic, a Zagreb Law School professor, was founded
in Zagreb on Friday.#L#
Attending the founding assembly were 50 members of the society and
Canadian Ambassador Dennis A. Snider.
Snider said the establishment of the society had been one of his main
objectives when he came to Croatia four years ago, and that he was
very happy it was founded before he was due to leave Croatia.
The Croatian-Canadian Academic Society was established to encourage
cooperation between the two countries primarily in science, culture
and the economy, with a view to developing Canadian studies in Croatia
and cooperation between the two countries' universities.
