"Establishing the Office of Istria County as a member of the Assembly
of European Regions in Brussels will pave the way to some European
projects in this region," Jakovcic said, adding that this would also
be a small contribution by Istria to Croatia's efforts to join the
European Union.
Several hundred regions of EU member states have similar offices in
Brussels, and since Istria cooperates with all of them, opening an
office in the Belgian capital will further improve the existing
cooperation, Jakovcic said.
The opening of the office will also be discussed by the County
Assembly.
