Rejecting the amendments seeking funds for the construction and
renovation of schools, the state secretary at the education ministry,
Nevio Setic, said the 2001 law on the funding of local self-government
units stipulated that schools, gymnasia and kindergartens were
maintained by cities and municipalities.
The parliament session resumed with voting on the remaining amendments
to this year's draft national budget.
