Speaking at a news conference, Micunovic said that with the election
of the new minority government, which was supported by the Socialist
Party of Serbia of Slobodan Milosevic, there were no longer any
political grounds for him to remain at the post and that he was not
resigning due to pressure.
Former Serbian deputies in the state parliament will be replaced with
the newly elected ones in line with the results of parliamentary
elections. The Serbian Radical Party will have 30 deputies, the
Democratic Party of Serbia 20, the Democratic Party 13, G17 Plus 12,
and the Socialist Party of Serbia and the coalition of the Serbian
Revival Movement and New Serbia eight deputies each.
Dragoljub Micunovic, president of the Democratic Centre, will remain
in the parliament as a deputy of the Democratic Party. The composition
of the Montenegrin section of the state parliament will not be
changed.
