The head of the Croatian committee, Ivan Jernjak, said Croatia not
only aspired to become a NATO member but also wanted to actively
contribute to the security of the region and overall security in
Europe, thus realising its own interest as well.
Speaking of terrorism as a global threat, Jarnjak said Croatia was
extremely sensitive to any form of threat to peace and security
because it was interested in the development of tourism as one of its
comparative advantages.
The NATO delegation, led by Subcommittee Chairman Vahito Erdem,
stressed Croatia's important role in the region.
Earlier today, the NATO delegation held talks with Croatian Parliament
President Vladimir Seks and members of Croatia's delegation to NATO's
Parliamentary Assembly.
