ZAGREB, March 2 (Hina) - Croatian companies, state administration
bodies and the entire public do not show enough understanding for the
socially responsible behaviour, said participants in a round table
discussion organised by the Croatian Chamber of the Economy in Zagreb
on Tuesday.#L#
Participants were presented with the results of a survey conducted in
some 50 Croatian companies, including bodies of the state
administration and civil society, by Academy for Educational
Development (AED), International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) and the
MAP company for counselling, with the support of the US Agency for
International Development.
Social responsibility is defined as the responsible attitude of
companies, state institutions and associations towards their societal
and natural environment and their impact on sustainable development.
The experience in this segment is still modest in Croatia. Only one
company, namely the Coca-Cola company, has so far drawn up its report
on its socially responsible behaviour. No other company in the country
has yet completed a report on viability which includes reports on
socially and ecologically responsible behaviour.
