"We will no longer be satisfied only with good election results, we
want such results that will enable us to compose the authorities on
our own," HSP leader Anto Djapic said submitting a report on the
party's work in the last four years.
He said that the HSP was ready for cooperation with all democratic
parliamentary parties regardless of their ideological orientation.
He described the HSP as a modern European party, adding that the way
into Europe "must not lead through the uncritical fulfilment of all
requests, including those which exceed what a sovereign nation can
allow itself to do".
Djapic supported Croatia's integration into NATO, but also questioned
the alliance's role "in light of the Iraqi crisis".
The conference is attended by 1,200 party deputies and numerous
guests, representatives of parliamentary parties, the diplomatic
corps, war veterans' associations, and unions and employers'
associations.
