Dubrovnik's Franciscan monastery of the Little Brethren.#L#
The monastery's head, friar Stipe Nosic, said at a news conference on
Friday that the frescos, believed to date back to the 14th century,
were discovered in February above the arch of the sacristy, which is
the oldest part of the monastery and the construction of which started
in March 1319.
Discovered were three images, of which the biggest one is two metres
long and 80 centimetres high. One of the images shows a scene from the
life of St. Francis of Assisi, the second one shows fortresses, while
the third image possibly depicts a scene from the Annunciation.
