ZAGREB, Feb 23 (Hina) - The Minister of Maritime Affairs, Tourism, Transport and Development, Bozidar Kalmeta, on Monday received the European Commission Ambassador to Croatia, Jacques Wunenburger, and the chief of the Organisation
for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) mission in Croatia, Peter Semneby, for talks on the return of refugees and reconstruction.
ZAGREB, Feb 23 (Hina) - The Minister of Maritime Affairs, Tourism,
Transport and Development, Bozidar Kalmeta, on Monday received the
European Commission Ambassador to Croatia, Jacques Wunenburger, and
the chief of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe
(OSCE) mission in Croatia, Peter Semneby, for talks on the return of
refugees and reconstruction.#L#
The representatives of the OSCE and the European Commission positively
assessed the first steps of the new Croatian government in creating an
atmosphere for the return of refugees, the Ministry of Maritime
Affairs, Tourism, Transport and Development said in a statement.
Kalmeta said that the reconstruction process would be completed in
2005, and added that a campaign was being prepared in cooperation with
the UNHCR to encourage former tenancy right owners to file requests
for property restitution.
Kalmeta also said that the government was stepping up its efforts to
resolve 508 cases of unlawfully occupied property.
