ZAGREB, Feb 6 (Hina) - The minimum cost of living for a four-member family in Croatia in January was 7,108 kuna, an increase of 0.12 per cent from December, the Independent Trade Unions (NHS) said on Friday.

The consumer basket is most expensive in Osijek, where minimum monthly
expenses for food, hygiene, clothing, housing, transport and culture
amount to 7,264 kuna. It is followed by Split with 7,183 kuna, Vukovar
7,167 kuna, Rijeka 7,100 kuna, Zagreb 6,977 kuna and Dubrovnik 6,954
kuna.
The average pay for November totalled 4,054 kuna, which was enough to
cover 57 per cent of living expenses.
The NHS consumer basket does not include expenses for education,
health services, vacation, sporting activities and new-born babies,
and is based on the assumption that the family does not own a car.
