participants in a seminar on the teaching of 20th-century history said in Zagreb on Wednesday.

the Croatian educational system, participants in a seminar on the
teaching of 20th-century history said in Zagreb on Wednesday.#L#
The seminar was organised by the Ministry of Science, Education and
Sports, in cooperation with the Croatian Institute for the Advancement
of Education and the Council of Europe, as part of events marking for
the first time the Day of Remembrance
of the Holocaust and Prevention of Crimes against Humanity.
The day was marked in schools yesterday with one period dedicated to
the Holocaust, which claimed the lives of six million Jews during
World War Two.
Croatia is one of the 48 signatories to the European Cultural
Convention, under which it is obliged to follow its basic
recommendations in teaching about the Holocaust.
The participants in the seminar were history students and teachers,
Holocaust teachers, editors and authors of history textbooks, history
professors, and experts in history and Holocaust teaching.
