ZAGREB, Jan 27(Hina) - Former Croatian Serb rebel leader Milan Babic has made a deal with the ICTY Prosecutor's Office to plead guilty to the persecution of people on political, religious and racial grounds as a crime against humanity
and complicity in a joint criminal enterprise, Judge Amin el Mahdi said on Tuesday.

has made a deal with the ICTY Prosecutor's Office to plead guilty to
the persecution of people on political, religious and racial grounds
as a crime against humanity and complicity in a joint criminal
enterprise, Judge Amin el Mahdi said on Tuesday.#L#
The Prosecution will in return drop four counts of the indictment for
violations of the laws and customs of war and change the allegation of
Babic's responsibility for "aiding and abetting" a joint criminal
enterprise into "complicity".
The Prosecutor's Office also said it would recommend to the Trial
Chamber that Babic be given a sentence of up to 11 years in prison and
protection.
Babic will enter his plea in the course of the hearing.
