ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) vice president Damir Kajin told a news conference on Monday that Croatia would become a full member of the European Union most probably in 2009 or 2010. He said that the
responsibility for this lay with the former Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and its policy and the current HDZ which opposed the ratification of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement before coming to power.

He said the IDS would support the so-called European laws and would
not deny good moves of the government, but criticise only bad ones. He
said "the HDZ will not be too responsible for the EU's opinion which
should arrive this spring, neither for the increase or a mild drop of
Gross Domestic Products, or a decrease in employment in 2004, but it
will be responsible if Croatia fails to enter the EU in 2007".
