Of a total of 290,107 registered voters, 35.78% went to the polls on
Sunday. The Croatian Party of Rights (HSP), which won 14.17 percent of
the vote, is followed by the coalition of the Social Democratic Party
(SDP), the Croatian People's Party (HNS), the Libra party and the
Slavonija-Baranja Croatian Party (SBHS), which won 11.26 % of the
vote.
The Croatian Party of Pensioners (HSU), the Liberal Party (LS), the
Croatian Peasant Party (HNS) and the Independent Democratic Serb Party
(SDSS) also passed the electoral threshold.
According to first estimates, the HDZ will have 20 seats in the
assembly, the HSP eight, the coalition of the SDP-HNS-LIBRA-SBHS six,
the HSU four, and the HSS and the SDSS each three seats in the
Assembly.
Given the provisions of the Osijek Baranja County Statute regarding
the right of the Serb national minority to at least four seats in the
assembly, the electoral commission said the fourth representative of
the Serb minority would most probably come from the HDZ slate.
The deputy chairman of the electoral commission, Zvonko Vrban told
Hina that the official results would be released tomorrow. The final
results will be released after the deadlines for complains expire.
The commission said no incidents were reported.
