ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - The international community's High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Paddy Ashdown, has appointed Susan R. Johnson as as Brcko District Supervisor and Deputy High Representative, the Office of the High
Representative (OHR) said in a press release.

Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Paddy Ashdown, has appointed
Susan R. Johnson as as Brcko District Supervisor and Deputy High
Representative, the Office of the High Representative (OHR) said in a

"A senior U.S. diplomat, Supervisor Johnson has broad experience
inside and outside government, as well as extensive knowledge of
transition issues. During her work for the U.S. State Department,
Supervisor Johnson served in senior positions in the U.S. Embassies in
Romania, Russia, Pakistan, and Mauritius, and the U.S. Mission to the
UN in New York. She has also served as Special Assistant to the Under
Secretary for Political Affairs for the Near East and South Asia and
as Senior Advisor in the Office of the Secretary for Resources,
Planning and Policy. In addition, Supervisor Johnson has served as
Foreign Policy Advisor to the U.S. Senate and has been a Senior
Program Officer for Asia and the Islamic World at the National
Endowment for Democracy" reads the press release issued on Monday.
"The High Representative expresses his gratitude to Mr. Gerhard
Sontheim, who has played an invaluable and successful role as Acting
Supervisor of the Brcko District for the past three and a half
months," the press release concluded.
