This is the first time a government official has confirmed media
speculation that Moric is among the former and present officials of
the interior and defence ministries who have been summoned for an
interview with tribunal investigators.
According to unofficial information, Moric was the second official to
have been questioned as a witness after Zdravko Janic, a former
employee of the Special Police Department.
Media have reported that summonses for an interview have also been
served on Marjan Benko, former assistant interior minister; Josip
Turkalj, former commander of the Lucko Anti-Terrorist Unit who is now
in charge of the Intervention Police Unit at the Interior Ministry;
Ante Soljic, former commander of the Special Police Department; and
Colonel Mihael Budimir, senior intelligence and counter-intelligence
inspector at the Defence Ministry.
Benko and Turkalj have confirmed receipt of the summons.
All those summoned are to give a statement on wartime military and
police operations code-named Storm and Medak Pocket, said the Office
for Cooperation with International Courts at the Justice Ministry.
