ZAGREB, Jan 16 (Hina) - The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Family, War Veterans' Affairs and Inter-Generation Solidarity, Jadranka Kosor, said on Friday that the government had not abandoned its plan to increase maternity
allowances, but was waiting for the adoption of the 2004 national budget.
ZAGREB, Jan 16 (Hina) - The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for
Family, War Veterans' Affairs and Inter-Generation Solidarity,
Jadranka Kosor, said on Friday that the government had not abandoned
its plan to increase maternity allowances, but was waiting for the
adoption of the 2004 national budget.#L#
Speaking to reporters after a meeting between Prime Minister Ivo
Sanader and trade union leaders, Kosor said the government for now
could only put forward a proposal for three-year maternity leave,
adding that other rights would be regulated by the law on the
execution of the 2004 budget, which will be adopted before the expiry
of the provisional budget.
