ZAGREB, Jan 13 (Hina) - The Croatian State Prosecutor's Office
confirmed on Tuesday that it had requested the police to establish
facts regarding an Internet poll asking whether former Interior
Minister Sime Lucin should be murdered, after which it will discuss
whether this constitutes instigation to murder.#L#
The Internet site where the poll was made public is dedicated to the
Ustasha movement and the leader of Ustasha Black Legion troops, Jure
Francetic. The question in the poll reads: "Would you kill Sime Lucin
for a reward?".
Deputy Chief State Prosecutor Dragan Novosel told Hina that according
to available information, the server with the controversial web site
was located in the German city of Bremen.
In establishing relevant facts the Croatian police will seek
international legal assistance if necessary, Novosel said.
He added that it would have to be established if the poll question
contained elements of instigation to murder, i.e. if the question of
whether Lucin should be killed was a direct call for his murder.
Asked to comment on the case, Lucin said that such cases were
unfortunately still part of the Croatian social and political scene.
