Party officials said the HSLS would seek from Prime Minister Ivo
Sanader three posts of state secretaries and about ten posts of
assistant ministers.
According to unofficial sources, two HSLS members -- Zelimir Janjic
and Zeljko Glavan -- were nominated for the post of state secretary at
the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports; Ivan Urlic was
nominated for the post of state secretary at the Ministry of Health
and Social Welfare, and an unnamed party member from Bjelovar was
nominated as state secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Labour and
Entrepreneurship.
The Council also tentatively nominated Jadranko Mijalic for the post
of state secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Communications
should the HDZ refuse some of the nominations.
Acting HSLS president Ivan Cehok and party vice-president Djurdja
Adlesic will present the nominations at negotiations with the HDZ
today. If the nominations are accepted, the two parties are expected
to sign a coalition agreement already today.
