ZAGREB, Jan 2 (Hina) - Croatia exported nearly 38 billion kuna, or US5.65 billion, in commodities in the first 11 months of last year and imported twice as much -- 85,88 billion kuna or US12.77 billion, the National Statistics Bureau
said in a statement on Friday.

The foreign trade deficit reached nearly 48 billion kuna or more than
US7 billion.
In kuna terms, exports increased 8.7 per cent and imports 11.6 per
cent compared to the same period in 2002, while in dollar terms
exports went up 27.6 per cent and imports 30.7 per cent. The
difference is due to a drop of about 15 per cent in the US dollar
exchange rate.
