Condemning the incident, Rade Dragojevic reported that vandals smashed two windows on the society's headquarters, causing damage worth 1,500 kuna (approximately 200 euros).
He recalled that the society's offices were attacked and damaged about 15 days ago.
Dragojevic also pointed out that the attacks had happened immediately after "public and media events charged with a strong national sentiment" such as the commemoration of the fall of Vukovar and the arrest of General Ante Gotovina.
He criticised the police for lack of enthusiasm in investigating such incidents and for failing to find the attackers.
He also criticised local intellectual circles for being passive and failing to condemn the attacks.
The spokeswoman for the Split county police confirmed that unknown attackers had broken several window panes on the building of the Prosvjeta society.
The police are investigating the case in order to find the perpetrators of last night's attack and of previous ones, she added.
