BELGRADE, Dec 15 (Hina) - A number of associations of Serb
refugees from Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina forwarded an open letter to UN war
crimes prosecutor Carla del Ponte on Thursday, pointing out that Croatian army
general Ante Gotovina should not be the only one tried for war crimes against
Croatian Serb civilians in 1995. "General Gotovina is charged with
150 victims, those killed in his area of responsibility. What about the
remaining 2,450 victims and who is responsible for them? It seems a big
injustice to ascribe all crimes to one man," read the letter.
It said that the "Croatian military Operation Storm was a large-scale
crime and Gotovina only one link in the chain of criminal enterprise against
the Serb people," and that "all participants in the joint criminal enterprise
must be brought to justice and be given punishment they deserve".
