About a hundred war veterans and several residents rallied in the northern coastal city of Pula.
The organiser of the event, the Istrian branch of the Croatian Homeland War Veterans' Association (HVIDRA), said that the rally had been held as a sign of support to General Gotovina and other indicted Croatian generals.
Several hundred residents in the eastern town of Vukovar gathered in the main square to show their support to the general, arrested a few day in Spain after he had been on the run for four and a half year.
Similar rallies were held in other eastern towns, including Vinkovci, Zupanja, Ilok and Otok,
According to police reports rallies were peaceful.
Also rallies were held in Gospic, in Bjelovar and some other towns.
In the night between Saturday and Sunday, several minor incidents were registered in the area of Zadar, such as setting tyres on fire or obstructing roads with logs. The incidents, fortunately, led to no traffic accident, according to the Zadar police.
