THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - The president of the Hague war crimestribunal, Fausto Pocar, and the tribunal's chief prosecutor, Carla delPonte, will address a session of the UN Security Council on 15December to present their
regular semi-annual reports on the work ofthe tribunal and the prosecutor's office, the implementation of thetribunal's exit strategy, and their cooperation with the countriesconcerned, representatives of the tribunal said in The Hague onWednesday.
THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - The president of the Hague war
crimes tribunal, Fausto Pocar, and the tribunal's chief prosecutor, Carla del
Ponte, will address a session of the UN Security Council on 15 December to
present their regular semi-annual reports on the work of the tribunal and the
prosecutor's office, the implementation of the tribunal's exit strategy, and
their cooperation with the countries concerned, representatives of the tribunal
said in The Hague on Wednesday. The Security Council session will
focus on the work of two ad hoc UN courts - the International Criminal Tribunal
for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the International Criminal Tribunal for
Rwanda (ICTR), with Pocar and del Ponte submitting their reports, spokespersons
for the ICTY and the Office of the Prosecutor, Jim Landale and Florence
Hartmann respectively, said at a weekly news briefing on Wednesday.
On 13 and 14 December Del Ponte will meet representatives of the State
Department and Congress, Hartmann said.
