Annual sessions of the subcommittee are held as part of the implementation of Croatia's Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU which came into force on 1 February, Croatian chairwoman Tamara Obradovic told reporters.
The sessions are an opportunity for Croatia to give a summary of progress made since the last meeting and officially announce activities for the coming period, Obradovic said.
The implementation of the SAA is complementary to the process of Croatia's EU membership talks and the success of the negotiations on 35 chapters that are undergoing an in-depth analysis of the level of adjustment of Croatian legislation to that of the EU, the so-called screening process, will depend on it.
Obradovic said the Commission had positively reacted to the information presented at the session.
