ZAGREB, Dec 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Association of People with HIV
is marking World Aids Day on Thursday with a campaign on the streets of
Zagreb, a fashion show by young designers in Mimara Museum and a grand concert
in Zagreb's Tvornica under the slogan "Decisions Change Lives - Get
Tested". The first HIV positive patient in Croatia was registered in
1985. There has been 537 cases of HIV positive people in Croatia so far, of
whom 218 developed AIDS and 122 died.
In this year's first 11 months, 49 new people with HIV were registered
in Croatia as against last year's total figure of 50.
Croatia is a country with a small number of people infected with HIV
and AIDS and is included among the three percent of countries that offer free
therapy for AIDS patients.
