BANJA LUKA, Nov 26 (Hina) - The head of the Serb Democratic Party
(SDS) and Republika Srpska President, Dragan Cavic, said on Friday evening that
this week in Washington representatives of political parties in Bosnia were
very close to an agreement on constitutional changes which refer to the
Presidency but that a solution was not reached because of the president of the
Party of Democratic Action (SDA), Sulejman Tihic. "Only because of
Tihic's stubbornness and his political autism (...) we did not reach a
solution," Cavic told Republika Srpska Television.
SDA president Tihic left the Washington talks before they officially
ended, dissatisfied with the fact that his efforts to discontinue the Bosnian
Serb entity were ignored.
Upon returning from the US, Tihic asked the Bosnian Constitutional
Court to assess if the name Republika Srpska was constitutional, because,
according to him, naming an entity after only one people makes discrimination
against other peoples in Bosnia possible.
