Leban said that the purpose of his visit was to further promote cooperation with the ethnic Croats in Burgenland and to learn about their problems.
The talks particularly focused on education and the possibility of introducing more Croatian language classes in primary and secondary schools so that the ethnic Croats could further preserve their identity in Austria as they have for centuries.
Croatian Export and Investment Promotion Agency Director Zeljko Kirincic met representatives of associations and companies of Burgenland Croats to discuss ways of promoting economic ties.
"The Croats in Burgenland have so far given priority to their patriotism, culture and faith, and from now on, as we have agreed, we will work together on strengthening economic cooperation between the Croats in Burgenland and Croatia, and not only in the manufacturing sector but also in banking," Kirincic said.
