MOSTAR, Oct 4 (Hina) - The leader of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Tuesday congratulated Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on last night's decision by the EU Council of Ministers to launch membership talks with Croatia.

"We consider the course you have set for Croatia as a guideline and clear message to Bosnia-Herzegovina so that the country could reach the same goal and become part of the great European family," Dragan Covic said in his message to Sanader.

He also expressed hope that Croatia, as one of the signatories to the Dayton peace agreement, would now be able to invest more effort in improving the constitutional status of Bosnian Croats.
