LUXEMBOURG, Oct 3 (Hina) - The European Union foreign ministers endedtheir extraordinary meeting in Luxembourg early Monday morning withoutan agreement on the negotiations framework for Turkey. The BritishPresidency decided to
continue talks about Turkey today and move ameeting of the EU Task Force for Croatia for later, diplomatic sourcesreported.
LUXEMBOURG, Oct 3 (Hina) - The European Union foreign ministers
ended their extraordinary meeting in Luxembourg early Monday morning without an
agreement on the negotiations framework for Turkey. The British Presidency
decided to continue talks about Turkey today and move a meeting of the EU Task
Force for Croatia for later, diplomatic sources reported. The
meeting of the Task Force was originally scheduled to start at 9.30AM.
British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw sent a message to UN chief
prosecutor Carla del Ponte to inform her that the meeting for Croatia had been
rescheduled, the same diplomatic source told Hina.
At the an extraordinary meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg
on Sunday evening, Austria insisted that the negotiations framework for Turkey
not be adopted. Without the framework, the negotiations with Turkey, scheduled
to start at 17.00 hours Monday, cannot start.
