Minister Suker commended the successful cooperation between Croatia and the EIB at talks with the newly appointed EIB director for Europe, Thomas Hackett, whom he met on the margins of the annual session of the IMF and the World Bank.
Suker said the successful cooperation was reflected in the fact that Croatia was obtaining loans from the EIB under the same conditions as EU countries.
The Croatian delegation stressed the need for expanding the Croatian Finance Ministry's strategy of cooperation with financial institutions to include the EIB, a proposal which received Hackett's support.
Hackett also supported a proposal for the two sides to soon hold a joint review of loans granted so far to Croatia by the EIB. The loans amount to 700 million euros.
Croatia has announced that it will soon sign a second loan this year, amounting to 60 million euros, intended for the Croatian Roads company.
