ZAGREB, Sept 22 (Hina) - The leader of the Association of Farmers
from Slavonia and Baranja (ZUSSB), Antun Laslo, said in Osijek on Thursday that
the Croatian agriculture sector was facing a collapse and announced that he
would write to the presidents of the state, parliament and government to urge
them to take measures to help the agriculture sector. The
association will also urge competent authorities to check relations between
prices in agriculture and reduce exports which threaten producers and
consumers, Laslo said.
ZUSSB secretary Stanko Zdravcevic said the autumn sowing would be bad
due to poor weather conditions and the government's failure to pay farming
incentives.
